<Preparation for the beginning program>

■ e-Learning system training

One month before the course started, KMUTT’s faculty members in charge of this program were trained on how to use e-Learning system.

<After the program starts>

1. 1st Discussion with Japanese Lectures

The Japanese instructors and students of each course introduced each other online, and the Japanese instructors explained the learning objectives of each course and what they wanted them to learn, and all the students understood.

2. Learning by e-Learning system

Due to the COVID-19, the place of study for e-Learning system was not in the university but at home. On the other hand, the greatest feature of e-Learning system is self-learning.

3. Presentation by students in each course

It was based on the content learned through e-Learning system, students’ academic achievements will be announced online in each course.

(1)Technology Development Course & Technology Management Course

■ Midterm Presentation(3 months after the course started)

Each student analyzes the social issues of his / her own country, propose a technology to solve it, a development method of the technology, and a plan for commercialization, and make a presentation about it as a research and development plan. The Japanese lecturer evaluated the validity of the analysis of social issues, the originality, sociality, customers, and marketability of new technologies. In addition, regarding plans for commercialization, the development procedure and marketing method were evaluated, and advice was given to each student.

■ Final Presentation (2 months after Midterm Presentation)

The final version of the R & D plan was presented based on the evaluation results and advice during the Midterm Presentation. As a result, the R & D plans of all students will be deepened, and some students will continue their research by utilizing university funds for commercialization, and further activities can be expected in the future.

(2)Career Development Course

■ Career Plan

Career Plan was created by basing on students’ future dreams, where do they see themselves in 5 or 10 years from now, analysis of their strengths and weaknesses, and self-development methods to achieve their dreams.

■ Career Session

After the student created the Career Plan, the session that consist of the following factors was held by dividing the direction of students’ future into 3 paths (company, university, entrepreneurship).
  Company Session
  University Session
  Independent-type venture company Session
A Japanese instructor will explain the attitude required for each path. We gave advice to each student’s career plan. On the day of the event, many students asked the instructors of each session seriously about employment at Japanese companies, what they need to do in the future, and what they need to do to start a business in the future, in order to achieve their dreams for the future.

(3)Project Based Learning Course

With the theme of expected social issues in Thailand aging society in the future, we planned / designed / developed a system to solve the social issues using IoT, big data, and AI. In the process, the students were divided into small groups and made a total of three presentations, including a Conceptual Design book, a System Design book, and an Evaluation report. In each presentation, Japanese lecturers evaluated and advised from the following criteria; originality, feasibility, high quality of technology, and effectiveness in medical field viewpoint. The final presentation, the Assessment Report, was filled with ideas that could contribute to the aging society of Thailand in the future.

(4)Learning support for students

■ Learning support for students

Support for students who are worried, during the learning process, the student asked the instructor a question on the e-Learning system. If online Q& A weren’t enough, we used zoom and Teams to hold individual discussions with the instructor.

■ Student follow-up based on learning situation

KMUTT faculty members identified students who were learning too slow on the e-Learning system and conducted follow-ups individually. Finally, all 36 people who participated were able to complete all the courses.

Mr.Sanan Srakaew

Implementation manager and in charge of Technology Development Course & Technology Management Course of this program at KMUTT

“I think it‘s a great success beyond expectations.”
“I was able to learn that the evaluation method is also strict and good.”

Dr. Jumpol Polvichai

In charge of Project Based Learning Course

“I was particularly impressed by the fact that I was able to respond to changes in students and various situations.”
“I was wondering if I could succeed, but it went well and it was a great success.”

Dr. Prapong Prechapraparnwong

In charge of Career Development Course

“In Japan’s evaluation method, you can clearly see the parts that are well done and the parts that you have to do your best.
I want to use it.”

Mr.Thanakorn Jaroonwan

Students of this program

“If it’s a matter of development, now I don’t have any plans because I’m still studying. But if there is an opportunity to work in a company with resources or it has a goal to do something about the elderly. I think if I have a chance to work with a company like this or if I can set up my own company and I have a goal to solve the problem of the elderly, I think this project would be one of the options to do. If the company has a goal to solve the problem of the elderly, I will probably offer this one. This is an idea offering to the company if the company wants to do this, to solve the problem of the elderly with AI. This technology uses IT equipment. It’s probably like that.”

Mr.Natchapol Patamawisut

Students of this program

If it is the structure of R&D Department, when I see it,when I see it, I feel like R&D Department must consist of several parts. If I can get in to a part, how can this develop my career path.

Miss.Rapeepan Masatitsup

Students of this program

It’s quite useful in my actual work. It was like we were actually trying to work in a company. It’s like a teacher from a company who interviewed us. It was an experience.
